Remove Side Panels - NOT Sideboxes

I have tried searching for this but couldn't find it.

I am looking to remove the two panels each side of the pages - NOT the side boxes.

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Try Configuration | Layout Settings | Column Left Status - Global from your Zen Cart Admin.

I'm sure you can find out how to remove the right column!

Maybe I'm not getting what you mean but the sideboxes sit inside the side panels.
Remove the panels and you remove the boxes.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, either, but try changing the width part of #mainWrapper in your stylesheet to 100%.

I am sure the answer I am looking for is amongst your ideas - only problem I cannot check as I seem to have 'killed' my site (again)

When I visit my site it now appears as a blank page!?? It was working fine then I adjusted one word in the english.php (I wanted to change the headings into uppercase) I am sure all I did was change Categories to CATEGORIES - the site went blank so I went back to english.php and changed it back to Categories but the site is still blank!!

WHAT HAVE I DONE

I keep making these faux pas but I hope I am learning about Zen Cart as I blunder about.

check your english.php and make sure you have the ' before and after CATEGORIES that you changed.

otherwise upload the orig english.php and this should fix it for you.

The software is configured to display the sideboxes INSIDE the left or right columns. Without the side-columns, no sideboxes.

You will have to customise the template code to re-structure the layout system for sideboxes and while it's probably possible, it could be a major project.

If you are looking for a "seamless" design, where the side columns are not "obvious" (ie: defined by a border or colour scheme) then you can make edits to the css to hide or re-configure these elements so that there is no clear distiction between the centre column and its two associated side panels.

You can - through clever use of categories tabs (cats in the header) and the ez-pages header and footer menues - globally disable left and right columns and yet retain important links in the site.

Thanks all - as suggested I reloaded the english.php file - and my site is back - couldn't see what was wrong with the corrected word.

Tried several ideas you suggested and I removed the side panels by setting the #mainwrapper to 100% - THANKS

Now I just need to adjust eh size of the middle section! These tweaks are never ending.

You can't change the size of the center column directly - only by changing the width of the right and left columns in Admin - Configuration - Layout Settings
