Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to look at my question.

I would like to do the following but have no idea where and how to start:

Well you know the manufacturers drop down menu when making a new product listing? Well instead of 1 I want to have 3 or more. Some items I sell can be used for multiple manufacturers and when people are searching I want the same item to come up when both models are chosen.

Briefly; is there a way I can have more than 1 drop down list for Manufacturers when creating an item?

This can be done, but would require a good knowledge of Zen Cart's structure and programming skills. It needs a number of disperate changes.

You would need to:

1. change the database to add two more manufacturer fields to the product table
2. extend the product addition and maintenance screens in the admin to access it
3. add the new database fields to the extract queries in the page header files for the pages where you intend to use them
4. update the templates file those pages to use the extra data and probably
5. include extra styling for the new data.

can you post any steps to describe in more detail, im not that good to do it from what you have described.

Also I never thought it would take so many adjustments just to add some more drop down fields to the make a new product page. I want it to be the exact copy of the one that is already there not a new category. I still want it to be manufacturers just more drop downs so instead of picking 1 manufacturer for a product i pick 3 or more.

Basically you need to go to each of the places that I've listed, find how the manufacturer field is treated at each of the them and clone it. The specifics are all in the code already.
