Punctuation after category description?

I want to be able to ad a '.' after the category description shown: <?php

if ($current_categories_description != '') {
?>
<div id="categoryDescription" class="catDescContent"><?php echo $current_categories_description; ?></div>
<?php } // categories_description ?>

Is it possible?

One more thing on this topic - can text be added as well? Example: the category right now looks like this: Category X - Can it be formatted to something like Our Category X. ?
