thanks.
instead of my zen cart i get this notice:
Sorry!
There seems to be a problem connecting to our database. Please give us a few minutes to remedy the problem. Thank you.
That shouldn't happen. The two programs work together normally.
Sounds like maybe you changed database user/password/grant details?
Or you maybe installed your JAM software into the same database as your ZC store and wiped out a table or something?
Or maybe you changed the paths or database details that your configure.php files are using to try to connect your store?
You did do backups of everything first, right?

i created a new database for jam.
i created a user and password for that new database.
i installed it into it's own directory /jamaffiliates
i don't know what i did wrong...

ok here is what happened. during the jrox install it asks you to create a db with user name and password.
when i created that password for the jam db, it changed the password for the my zen db.
so after installing jam, zen cart went down.
i deleted jam and the db. that didn't help. then i went into the config files for zen cart and decided to change the pw to the pw i created for the jam db and now my store is back.
whew! but now i have to reinstall jam all over again.
but i don't know why the pw i created for the dam db required me to change the pw for my zen db.....
... can only be "human error" I'm afraid...
I install JROX JAM frequently to integrate with ZC - never have problems with dbases.

i don't doubt that...
but i created a separate db for jam with a separate pw
when i created that new pw for jam, it changed my zen db pw (which i was unaware of).
so i guess i am supposed to use the same pw for both dbs???
thanks.
