Default A couple of questions. (Layout of image and centering)

    Hi All,

I am new to this board and new to Zen Cart.

I have a strong knoweldge in HTML, CSS and PHP.

    http://www.jewelsforschools.net/shop/

Under the category Bracelets, I want to have that one product have a large image, centered, instead of the thumbnail and then the information below that.

    How can I do that?

Also, instead of having the user click on the category, can I have bracelets be the main category that comes up as soon as the store is opened? The reason is, is that there will only be 2 or 3 products that will be available on this store.

    Thank you for your help!!!

In admin > Configuration > Layout Settings, set
Categories - Always Show on Main Page
    to 1 and
Main Page - Opens with Category
    to the category id.

For the image, a few questions.
Do you want the product info page for that bracelet different from the rest, or do you want the bracelet as a sort of category identifier, with a list of all the products below it? You can load the large image when you edit the category.
When you have only one product in a category as now, the default behavior is to go straight to the product info page when the category is clicked. There is a product listing page which you don't see, which will show all the products in the category when there is more than one.

Add another product, and then describe in more detail how & when you want the large image to be displayed.

    Thanks for the reply!

If you look now at the store, it comes up with the one product.

I would like the "thumbnail" of the bracelet to NOT be a thumbnail, if that makes sense.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks for your help again!

So do you want the large image on the product info page (where you will only see it after going to the individual product), or on the product listing page where all the products are displayed?

In lieu of creating a second product, you can get the product listing page to show by setting Configuration > Layout Settings > Skip 1-Prod Categories to false.

You will get a better sense of the display by having a second product in the list.

If I could have the large image on the product info page, and then also if i could have a larger thumbnail size for the product listing page.

    :)

The easiest way to have varied image sizes is to save all the images at the exact pixel size you want them to display, and then in Configuration > Images, set the relevant dimensions as blank. Like this:
    Product Info - Image Width
    Product Info - Image Height

The image's dimensions will be used if not explicitly set here.

    That worked perfectly.

    Thank you!

Is there any way I can center the image?

Also, do you know how I can remove the ad from the bottom of the page?

    Thanks again!

Centering just that one product's image would require some recoding. Centering all product main images the same way is easy. Just add to the end of your stylesheet

    #productMainImage {float: none; margin: auto;}

Better yet, find the two rules which lump #productMainImage with a list of other selectors, remove it from those lists and put all properties in the one rule.

In Configuration > Layout Settings, one of these will turn off that banner (banner 6):
Banner Display Groups - Footer Position 1
Banner Display Groups - Footer Position 2
Banner Display Groups - Footer Position 3

    Perfect!

    Thank you!

One last question and I promise it is the last one. If I want to remove the "Write a Review" and "Tell a Friend", where would I do that?

    Thanks agian.

    Catalog > Product Types > Product-General > edit layout >

    Show Product Reviews Button

Show Product Tell a Friend button

Don't feel bad that you couldn't find that by yourself! Some admin settings are pretty well hidden.

For future reference, since you are already familiar with CSS, you can find the class/id/element to style using the Firefox Web Developer extension. If you are not already familiar with it, you will find it to be your new best friend.
