Resize Image

I realize that my thumbnail image size is as big as the size of my big image in detail page.(I only have one big image for each product) Does anyone know how to automatically resize it in order to speed up the loading time for product list page?

you can use IH2 ( image handler) free from module section..
it will resize the single image with some zoom effect as well.

Check out if PHPThumb() helps you. http://phpthumb.sourceforge.net/

For some coool effects with zooming I'd rely on fual slimbox (in the addon section). It's VERY good.
