Multiple whos-online connections for same AOL customer?

Just launched my site, everything looks good and orders are coming in. (My thanks to the zen team and all those individual programmer who helped!)

I'm looking in my Who's Online and everything looks OK except that I'm seeing multiple references for a session with full carts; all the same session and
Session ID: ca9ed9f1a39dcbf1b7fc8338058a7bed
Host: cache-ntc-aa09.proxy.aol.com
(probably ten of them)

I'm hoping this is just spiders as i have recently submitted the sitemaps and product submissions to several places so it's a new site to everyone. I see googlebot and a couple of others.
I just want to be sure this is normal for the aol spider to cause trouble handling sessions and that they're not indexing incorrectly (or worse, that it really is customers and it's fouling their carts). The who's online and spider handling is different from my old store.

Update: For a minute, one of the sessions had 2 references in the Who's Online. One was guest and the other was a customer trying to check out. Got a credit card error. Now I'm worried. Anybody have any thoughts?

Please don't post your session IDs.

What color are the entries? What are you seeing that leads you to believe they have things in the cart?

Right, sorry. i suppose that could expose that customer's private info.

There were many active carts (green circle doodad) with a regular background color and all had the same session IDs. I clicked on one and it had 3 of an item and several other items. They all went yellow, I think at about the same time. That's why I guessed a spider crawl. I'm just concerned I have something configured incorrectly.

I know enough about zen, php, mysql and html to be a danger to myself.



googlebot shows up with a pink background, I think. I saw a bunch last night. None there now.

I suspect that you had a customer who was browsing the site opening up new windows to retain the information about which they were interested. They won't have timed out at exactly the same moment, but probably fairly close together.

You are right that the bots (at least those that Zen Cart recognizes) are highlighted in pink.

Overall, though, I don't think you have anything to worry about here, other than was it a problem on your site that caused the credit card failure - hopefully not.

Thanks for allaying my fears! My Auth dot net processing appears to be fine. Several dozen orders (including Paypal orders) have all processed just fine since launch.
I'll keep my eyes peeled. If there is an issue, one of our returning customers will likely report it (where the average surfer will usually just go away frustrated).

Note that AOL users will connect on many different IPs because of the nutty round-robin approach AOL uses for its outbound communication.
