Security Error trying to log in - getting desperate now!

Please offer any advice you can on this - I'm getting increasingly worried about it. I get the dreaded 'Security Error when trying to log in' when attempting to log in as a customer, and I've already changed the two tpl files to add the security token! I just dont know where to go with it from here - ANY advice appreciated

I'm a bit confused - I had previously thought that hardcoded links were only related to SSL page issues, where the browser was given the 'secure and insecure items' spiel. I hadn't realised that it would refuse login to account pages too! Still, I thought I'd already tracked down and removed all the hardcoded links, so many thanks for spotting those two I missed.

So I changed those two links to relative ones, and hey presto, no more 'security error trying to log in' messages. Thats the good bit... But on attempting to log in now, after changing those two links, I just get a refresh of the sign in page. I've emailed myself a new password in case I'd remembered it wrong, but nope, the database no longer throws up an error, it just doesn't log me in! Sigh... whats up now??
