USPS Shipping - how do I get rates for international destinations?

Hello,

I am new here, and new to Zen Cart. I've read FAQ's until I'm going blind, but I am (obviously) missing something and could really use some help!

I am setting up a shop in the USA, and need to ship world-wide.
The USPS stuff is set up and verified and running in production mode.

What I do not understand is how do I get Zen Cart to configure the correct USPS international shipping rates? It seems to working well at calculating shipping rates for zip codes throughout the USA. But it also shows the same rates for international shipping, and I can't figure out why.

Any help/advise would be MOST appreciated, I am feeling at the end of my rope. What am I missing??

Did you apply the USPS Update and follow all of the instructions carefully?

Hello Linda,

yes, I have. But it's giving me some outrageous rates for international shipping-

example-a package weighing 1/2 pound going to Greece is stating it's $27.00 to ship-

I have ticked first class international and Priority international boxes.

The rates it's displaying for the USA are spot on.

Any help greatly appreciated, I'm just about ready to throw in the towel.

Check your Tare settings in the Shipping/Packaging settings ... the default is add 3lbs ...

Check the Machinable and Not Machinable options, and note the rules ...

Hi Linda,

I set all of my tares to zero thinking that would solve the problem. When I am in the cart itself, it does display correct weights and configures American shipping perfectly.

Regarding the machinable, nor machinable options, I cannot find those? Only one option that allows me to tick the box off if all packages aren't machinable, or on if they are.

Where do I find these tabs? I think I've looked through everything?

Is there someone I can hire to assist me? I have truly reached the end of my rope, and I'm ready to delete the whole thing.

I think someone who knows how to use this well could probably figure out whatever it is that I'm doing wrong in just a few minutes-which is better than me mutilating my laptop!

OK, end of my rope reached. I spent another couple of hours trying to get this to work correctly-to no avail.

I'm deleting Zen Cart this from my sites. While I truly love open source efforts-I guess this one just isn't for me.

I've followed all of the documentation to the letter-and have spent far too many hours trying to fix this issue.

Not everyone is expert at doing shipping tricks and sometimes it takes time for someone to be free to fix your issues ...

Something you may wish to try is the Commercial Help Wanted if you are having problems getting Free support on an issue that you are trying to resolve ...

Perhaps this option will help you get your shipping issues resolved if posted with the details of the problems that you are having there ...

i'm getting this exact problem!

if i go to usps.com (and the store) for this specific package (which is in a large envelope) USPS tells me 6.80 dollars first class international to the UK .. but zencart tells me 24.00!!

all my tares are at 0:0 ... the weight shows right .. i even tried making the weight small enough to be considered machineable, but to no avail.

what's happening? i could really use some help.

What is the weight of the package?
