How to make links open in same window

I have blog, contact us and site map in my footer however when i click on the links they open in a new window, what do i need to edit to make the links open in the same window

What did you use to add the links to your footer?

I added the links into the footer by editing the code in includes/languages/english.php

I looked into the "_blank" before i made this post and i made the change but it didnt work, but after looking into a google link i learnt that you just have delete out _blank from inside the speech brackets
