Per item shipping for multi item kits

I have things set up to charge $3.50 shipping per item, but the problem I face is how to charge per item fees for Programs that contain 3-5 bottles of product. Right now, it shows only the $3.50.

One work around is use the Product Weight (products_weight) to be the unit indicator where:
1 = 3.50
2 = 7.00
3 = 10.50
etc. etc. etc.

Then, use the Per Unit perweightunit shipping modules and set the Unit charge to 3.50 ...

You need to set the Maximum Value that you ship to 5000 and both of the Tare weights to 0:0 ...

Now, what will happen is the amount in the products_weight with be multiplied by the number of Items on each product ...

So if I buy:

1 of Product A with a products_weight of 1 shipping is $3.50 ...
2 of Product A with a products_weight of 1 shipping is $7.00 ...
3 of Product A with a products_weight of 1 shipping is $10.50 ...

1 of Product B with a products_weight of 3 shipping is $10.50 ...
2 of Product B with a products_weight of 3 shipping is $21.50 ...
3 of Product B with a products_weight of 3 shipping is $32.00 ...
