Easy way to list items?

Just wondering if there has been any improvments in Easy Populate? I used it about 3 months ago and would not load products correctly and was to confussing to use. ANd some how doubled all my items. Took my 2 days removing them... over 500 items.

For my dropshipper they use a product called Bullseye that i can search their invetory. I would like to be able to add alot more items and more categories but its hard managing 500 items I cant imagine 500+. I find it hard just taking the model number on every product and making sure they still carry the product I find about 1-10 items a month they stopepd carrying that I had listed.

Any recommendations? Idea? Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear that you're battling with Easy Populate. I have been using it since May 2005 (on all versions oz ZC since 1.2.7) and I have never had a problem with it.

Some of my clients have stores with 8,000 to 10,000 products and without Easy Populate they would really struggle.

Have you see my Easy Populate tutorial in the WIKI ?

Yes I have I am afraid to give it another chance for how it messed my site up last time.... Maybe I will make another store and test it out on there this time like recommended. Fi this is the only mod for here In the mod section what is this for: Easy Populate From osc

The problem with the free Easy Populate it defines products based on the model number and if any of your products doesn'e have a model number it links it to another product that is why you have the linking issue. I had suffered from that once or twice. But the good news is if you use the paid version available at zen cart developer website. you can actually add products based on their product ID. It is very simillar to the free version in allowing you to add products information but will give you the choice of adding products based on model_id or Product_id. I have start using it a few months ago and now I have added more than 8000 products to my store in a few weeks which would of taking me months to do one by one.

Just google Easy populate for zen cart and you will get the link. Its like $65 but its worth it.

I would recomend backing up your data base before trying any mod so it will not take you hours to restore your previous settings.

Are attributes easier to add? I also had trouble adding them.. Thank you for responding

After installing easypopulate 2.76d mod3b plus the 2.77H update, i had no show in admin/configuration as per the wiki states.

Because of the no show in configuration i never attempted to go any further with it.

It does show in admin/tools though.

As i suspected a possible corruption on download/upload, i reinstalled it 3 times in total.

Errr, that's not the only version. There's one tweaked very slightly from Langer's original port. Although that looks much older than the more recent osc port, it has a much longer track record and is the one that most people here would probably recommend. It hasn't been updated a lot recently, because the tables it populates have been very stable.

With the paid version on Easy Populate is it still all with spreadshhet (excel)? Is there any problems with the model number begining with a 0 and is there any problems with the attributes?
