    Default Installing Stock by Attributes

This is my first post, so forgive me if I don't follow protocol. I am trying to install the Stock by Attributes module and have printed the installation instructions provided. However, I'm stuck on step one! I do have FileZilla, but when I drag and drop to the root directory, it wants to override what is already there. Should I let it do this, or will that kill the modules that are already there in the admin and includes folders? Anyone have any install instructions for this for REAL dummies?!?!? Thanks for the help!

Generally although it says 'override' all it will do is override any files of the same name/ install new files - ie it won't delete the whole directory and only upload it's own files.

Easiest way to check AFTER YOU'VE BACKED EVERYTHING UP:
Create a new folder with a file in it.
    folder - test
    file test.html
    Upload these to your server
Then rename the test.html to test2.html
Drag/ drop the test folder again and see what happens.

If it works correctly you should have:
    folder - test
    file - test.html
    file - test2.html

But whatever you do, don't use the approach recommended by bigbadboy for the actual installation, as re-named backup files can completely kybosh this mod.

If you're nervous about the actual installation, look at the installation instructions to get the names of the files that need to be overwritten. Download copies to a backup directory on your local PC before uploading the mod's files.

Agreed, but my post above was simply to test if the app/ server allows overriding existing files/ folders or not and, technically, has nothing to do with installing the actual mod.
Unless of course, I completely misunderstood the OP.

No worries. That was understood. Your approach is the quickest way to test out the tool, see what it does and how it works and get confidence with it. No problem with that. Would just cause problems if the same approach were used to actually install the mod.
