    Default Ignoramus needs help

Hi. With help from my host 3iX, Zen Cart is now installed through Fantastico in cPanel and is up and running. Big question is, where do I go from here? How do I start to customize my website? Will I have to get into full-on tech stuff or should I pay a developer to save me the time and headache? Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Len,

It really depends on what you want done and how quickly you want/need it done.

And also depends on whether you are emotionally up to ZC's steep learning curve. ;)

Check out my site (below). I did it myself, and I am NOT a programmer. Not even close. It's mostly standard ZC options, with my photos and I did switch to a different color scheme. But it took me about a week of pretty intense hair-tearing-out, and a lot of posts on here, and I still don't understand the "zones" thing. But people are able to check out my site and order my products (paying with Paypal) so it's fine for my purposes.

If my site looks like something you would want, and you're willing to put in the time reading the docs and pleading for help on here, you can probably do it yourself. If you want something fancier, or if you have a life <g>, you probably want to hire a pro. (I have no vested interest, I don't do other people's websites.)

Well, you just have to balance, do some calculation.
Is the amount of time you spend on the new site worth more or less than the cost you have to pay?
You can post in the Commercial help forum, request for a price quote. There is no rule saying that you have to go ahead with the plan once you receive a price quote anyway.
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me
