Default Newbie mistake installing SSL, how do I fix

I tried to install a shared SSL certificate as explained in https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=14. I am pretty sure I made a mistake and know what it is but am not sure how to correct it. I followed the directions given for the last version of a shared certificate by modifying the configure files on my harddrive (clean install files) and then deleted the files on the server and uploaded the new files (that is what I think I did wrong). When I try to go to the site now I get the "system setup required" page. After reading as much as I can in the forum I figured out those two files ( includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php were probably modified when I did initial system setup and provided paths and passwords to SQL database and such. My question is if that is correct, how can I fix it now, the original files were deleted. If that is not correct, please provide me some guidance. Thanks for the help in advance. I already have 2000 products loaded to the site and don't want to start over if that is an option. I was just putting on the final touches for a grand opening.

you have to download the confige.php files from your site , and make a modification to it using not pad or better yet.. get notepad++ (is free ) .. correct the path to the ssl and upload them back to the right location ..

if you install on your computer and use that config files , you will get the system install process or other errors , since no path in config is reflecting your hosted website.

Well unfortunately that is exactly what I did (I edited and uploaded the config file from my clean version at home) and I'm getting the errors. Now I want to try to correct it but the initial files were deleted. I'm hoping that I'm not the first to make this blunder and that there is a way to correct it. Thanks for the help.

If anyone else makes the mistake here is a fix. I was able to use my backup saved to the server to find the files and then just cut and paste them back into the current files. I originally tried to restore the site but it would onyl allow restores to parts of it and I had always doen complete backups. Lessons learned.... download file you are going to modify, modify it and then re-upload it so you are modifying the current file. Backup each section individually vice doing a complete backup. This was a great learning day. I guess it's true you leanr by your mistakes. Thanks
