Send Gift Certificate 1053 Error

I don't know why this is doing this now, nothing has changed, i've not done or changed a thing but I can't use the 'Mail Gift Certificate' option. It used to work fine! This is the error message I get:

Might want to contact your host - that error says the server is being shut down.

Ok, thank you. If it's set to plain text and not html area then the page goes blank. It's very strange and never happened before
