Default Admin area not displaying stylesheet? (fasthosts & .htaccess fun I think...)

I searched the forums to find that I need to get rid of the .htaccess file (and any security it offers) in order for my shopping cart to display the f(stupid)ng style.

Now, the cart shows the theme, but the Admin area is not styled, and its very difficult to use it this way. Plus, I'd be eventually selling this thing..

I don't remember how it is that I don't have this issue on my main webcart [plug] http://store.persite.com [/plug] but I looked and am in fact missing the .htaccess from my /includes directory.

Does anyone know offhand how to enable styling in the admin area that has something to do with being hosted on Fasthosts (or otherwise)?

    Thanks in advance,

    -Tim

The fact that your hosting prevents you from setting the security protections is one cause for alarm.

But your immediate problem could just be a result of having incorrect settings in your admin/includes/configure.php file, thus making it impossible for your browser to find the stylesheets in the first place.

That's the thing, I've installed the cart from both the FQDN as well as the .tv domain, and set the paths correctly.

This is not the first time I'm setting up a Zen Cart, and it's not the first installation on this host. This is why it's bugging me, because I have it working in one corner of the (server) closet, but not the other.

Should I just take my install from my main and copy it to the new domain, and then update the style/etc and swap out the config file?

Try comparing all the files from the server, from both sites, to see what's different/missing: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...Obscure_Issues

Thanks for the tip, I went looking through the folders and realized that I left the .htaccess in the /admin/includes and only took it out of /includes in root.

I removed the .htaccess file, but doesn't that allow everyone to list directory contents and everything?

Looks like today is the day I tell bossman that we can't have Fasthost hosting it. Especially if we want to get SSL working.
