Background: v1.3.8a
I went through the Gift Certificate Instructions to add a Gift Certificate Category provided by Ajeh and have 3 Gift Certificate products(GIFT-100, GIFT-200 and GIFT-300). I purchased the $300 one but I did not receive an email with the redemption code, just one from PayPal and the order confirmation email from my cart. It had a link to my purchase but no other links. In checkout it shows that I have a GC balance available to me.
In my db, there was an entry for my purchase on the coupon_gv_customer table for the proper amount but no entry on the coupon_gv_queue table. In the ot_gv module, initially I had set the queue certificates to false because for our users fraud is no issue and we want them to have immediate use of the funds.
Separately, I had set up a coupon called andyfree to make some test purchases and had a minimum purchase limit of $100.
With no Redemption code at checkout I could not test my gift certificate so I manually inserted my purchase to the coupon_gv_queue table thinking that I could change the queue option in the ot_gv module to true and when the purchase was released from queue, I would get the redemption code. I received the email but still no link. (note that there is no entry on the coupon_email_track table.)
The next time through checkout no redemption code would work, so I tried to use the andyfree coupon but my balance was below the minimum I set, so I tried andyfree as the redemption code for the GC and it worked!
Questions:
1) where should the redemption code be found? it is not on the customer screen or in the My Account area.
2) why would there not be a redeem gift certificate link in my emails?
3) why did my andyfree coupon code work for the gift certificate redemption code?
4) if coupon codes are supposed to work for gift certificates, will the category and product restrictions for coupons work for GC's?
