    Default Canada Post crash

Sorry I posted this elsewhere first - couln't find how to start a question.

I'm on 1.3.7 via Dreamhost. I got to point of succesfully processing CanadaPost Shipping and Paypal processing. I made some kind of boo boo while customizing apperance (saved english.php in wrong folder) the mucked up the works. I had backups of all my customized files.

I stripped and re-installed 1.3.7 via Dreamhost and copied over my customized files. Everything worked including all the customized stuff.

But when I tried to set up a test product I got as far as the product showing in the admin panel, but when I hit 'insert' I get a 1054 Unknown_column_weight_type' in 'field list' [insert into zen_products.....long list of stuff] I confirmed that the shipping_units/php files have kgs and cm.

Unistalled whole works again, and elminated mysql database.

Reinstaled from Dreamhost again, with new clean bd. Reset config files and in the admin panel only set my country, currency, tax zone. I did not copy over any of my customizd files. Did a test product and it created fine and inserted fine.

I installed Canada Post 1.3.7. and then had same error result. I uninstalled the 1.3.7 and installed the 1.3.8 with the same result again.

    Please help!

    addendum:

the error refers to admin/inludes/modules/copy_tp_confirm line 36, seventh field, and down the entry a bit where the data from my test product are listed, the 7th field is kgs

    I checked

    admin/includes/extra_configures/shipping_units.php and
    includes/extra_configures/shipping_units.php

both have SYSTEM and TEXT as kgs, cm

I also tried re-keying the test product toggling the weights and dimensions to lbs/inches and I stil got the error message.

All the other shipping modules are uninstalled (which I did before I installed Can Post) Only Canada Post is active.

What's driving me nuts is that it was working before

This suggests that you've not applied the SQL patch for the module you installed.

    Thank you for answering.

I see the file mysqul_canpost_dim... in the downloaded CanPost folder. I'd not done anything with it as the Readme file didn't mention it.

    I'm not tech savy.

I went into phpMyAdmin via my server panel (Dreamhost). I see a place to import a file. That place has a browse window to select the file, a field called Character Set of File that has a drop down list of greekish looking choices, and a check off box that the file is .sql.

To install the patch do I just import that file as above?

    Thanks.

From the Canada Post installation instructions, Install_CP.txt:
    2. Using Admin->Tools->Install SQLPatch, choose Browse, and select the SQL File: mysql_canpost_dimensional_13x.sql
Click on Send, and the adjustments will be made to the products table.

I'm trying to install the canada post module right now... haven't gotten very far. I cannot find Admin-->tools-->install sqlpatch anywhere!?! maybe i'm not looking in the right spot?? can someone please tell me exactly where to find this?

i've managed to upload all the rest of the files into the respective folders, but doing a search in my control panel for "tools" or "install sqlpatch" comes up with nothing.

    thanks in advance, kelly

    LAVA,

Look at your admin panel not your cPanel.
