No quantity box

One some of my products i have quantity boxes and other I do not. I have looked at the items that have the boxes and the ones that do not and on both, the radio button that says, "Yes, Show Quantity Box " is marked.

Also the ones that do not show the quantity box have a link to go and "read more..." of the description while the ones WITH the qty box do not. Baffled and not an experienced zen cart user.

The products without quantity boxes have attributes (as I expect all of them will eventually).
Products with attributes need to have them selected on the product info page, and thus cannot be added to cart from the product listing page.
