blank spots and duplicates in new products for (month)

Hi,
ok so i have blank spots and duplicates in "new products for (month)" box
the site has been up for a couple of weeks and i have made some changes and deletions

some of the products are listed(duplicated) in more than one catagory prehaps linking is better?

i found a "clean data base" button it says it will fix gaps in
database
will it fix the missing "new products for dec." blank spots?

I suspect your so-called "blank spots" are either a result of missing product images, or a problem with your style/layout settings in your stylesheet.
It has nothing to do with your database.

But, a URL would be helpful if you want folks to help you with any specifics.

Yes i do have some missing pictures and that may explain
why there are some blank spots..
but what makes some of them appear twice?

one other thing...
there is no discription or price below the
missing picture
a "no picture available" will appear with the caption & price
whats up with that?

I don't know about blank spots, but linking is for items that you want to appear in more than one category. Duplicating is for very similar items that you don't want to have to retype the whole entry, just change a few elements. Duplicating (rather than linking) an item so it appears in a different categtory will wreak havoc with your inventory control and possibly confuse customers.

the blank spots went away with the removal of the
duplicate setting, you should always listen to your mother

then i looked at the duplicate picture .. it was only one after
the first fix and that was due to a dual data entry.


most computer errors do happen at the keyboard..
