Is it possible to apply javascript to show option value images?

I was browsing through some javascript goodies and came across this:

It would work very well for adding images to attributes for me - is it possible (read difficult) to add this to the main function of Zen Cart?
In other words - they pick an attribute option value, and see a pic below the pulldown box?
