I think the error is from the optional sideboxes files.

Because they are being merged into the existing Template files, i feel that the error is there where the file merge has not been done correctly.

I already had the link but am unable to make any browser show me what you took a picture of.
Unless you can give me precise steps to get to the same view you took a picture of, I cannot be of help. This really needs to be in another thread since it does not relate to the mod.

And yes, I will have a look at that one too... this new website I'm doing is a smaller version of my existing large one (focusing on the essential oils only). Once I have it all working as I want it, I will migrate/rebuild my 1.3.7h version... it's exciting seeing all these addons now being available. :-)

Until I can do what I really want to do with this mod, a way to work with at least PHP 7.2 and earlier is to go to https://github.com/plirof/phpMyEdit-PHP7.0 and use the phpMyEdit.class.php file from there in your eventz folder.

This has been tested with PHP 7.2 with no problems.

I've been putting band-aids on this mod for clients for too long. Apologies for not providing a formal update, but life events don't often go as planned.

Here's what's been done:

A complete rebuild of the classic Scheduled Events add-on as a modern, fully encapsulated Zen Cart plugin. Where the original required manually FTPing folders, patching your database with a SQL file, and touching files you may have already customized, this version installs and uninstalls entirely through Zen Cart's own plugin manager - no core files are ever modified, and nothing needs to be run by hand.

Display your upcoming events (shows, fairs, expos, in-person appearances, etc.) on their own storefront page, fully managed from a dedicated admin screen. Past events automatically drop off the display.

STOREFRONT

• A dedicated events page listing every currently-qualifying event, each showing its name, place, start/stop dates, and any optional comments, booth location, event information, and driving directions.
• Events become visible a configurable number of days before they start (30/60/90), and stay visible through their stop date. A friendly "no events scheduled" message (with the current date window) shows when nothing currently qualifies.
• Booth Location and Event Information can each carry an optional link - a floor-plan map, a parking image, the event's own website, whatever's useful - with no HTML authoring required. A bad or missing link never breaks the page; it just falls back to plain text.
• Driving Directions accepts a plain address (opens Google Maps in a new tab) or a Google Maps "Embed a map" code, which instead opens as a self-contained pop-up right on the page - no navigating away, and the map isn't even fetched unless a visitor actually opens it.
• A link to the events page is always added to your template's Information sidebox, styled to match responsive_classic and ZCA Bootstrap out of the box. An optional second promotional spot - an auto-scrolling carousel sidebox - is available for Bootstrap-based templates, placed via Layout Boxes Controller, and automatically adapts itself for mobile/tablet screens.
• A master switch hides the entire storefront presence at any time, without uninstalling.

ADMIN

• Manage every event from Extras > Scheduled Events: add, edit, delete, sort by date/name/place, and see everything at a glance in a clean list.
• An Active checkbox lets you pause an event without deleting it or losing its dates - handy for a show that's on hiatus but might return. Paused events stay out of sight on the storefront but remain easy to find and reactivate later via a "Show All" toggle.
• All page text, field labels, the display window, and sidebox options are configurable under Configuration > Scheduled Events - no code editing required.

COMPATIBILITY

Requires Zen Cart 2.0.0 or later; developed and tested against Zen Cart 2.2.2/2.2.3 and PHP 8.5.
