Could be your host, could be your images - your template uses lots of images.

The bar on both sides seems redundant (IMHO)

Strange... I pinged and in a couple of other ways checked the connection to your site, and all was well. The response time was less than half a second.

BUT, when I tried to load your site in my browser, I gave up after almost a minute of staring at a blank screen. There's something seriously wrong with how your server is responding when your site is requested by a browser. Talk to your server people.
