banners don't appear

yes ..another of my "blond" moments .,. when setting up my store I did not know how to get rid of the banners so I deleted all of them via the banner manager ...
I would like to upload some of mine afterall but each time I add a banner it just does not appear anywhere ..
I have checked that the sideboxes are on ... yet still no banners coming up ..

what could be wrong?

Make sure to read all, I suspect the fix to your problem is in the section entitled POSITIONING BANNER GROUPS :)

Thank you for the link ... I have seen and read it .. but must be a total dumb as it does not help ...

When you make your Banners, you assign them to a Banner Group Name ...

This name can be anything ...

If you do not have a Banner Group Name in the Dropdown, type in a Banner Group Name such as:
Sidebox-Banner
BannersAll
Sidebox1
HeaderBanner
FooterBanner

Next time you add a Banner, you will see that name in the Dropdown and can select it, or create another Banner Group Name ...

To then have the Banner Groups display, you need to add them to the Configuration ... Layout Settings ...

There are 9 positions for banners ...

Enter the Banner Group Name(s) in the position that you want the banners from the Banner Group to display ...
