Shipping Discounts? ie: each additional item is only $1 more each?

Hi -

I am currently using the perweightunit shipping module and entering what I want to charge for each item as the weight.

Does anyone know how I can set this up so that, say, each additional item to be shipped is only $1.00 more?

Per Unit perweightunit shipping module takes the products weight for its calculation ... and takes the total weight of all the products for products_weight * quantity ...

It sounds like you want the charge for shipping to be:
Product A 6.75 quantity 4
Product B 3.25 quantity 3

products_weight + ( (quantity-1) * 1 )

So if the products_weight is 6.75 and you order 4 you would want:
6.75 + ((4-1) *1) =
6.75 + (3 *1) =
$9.75

Then if the products_weight is 3.25 and you order 3 you would want:
3.25 + ((3-1) *1) =
3.25 + (2 *1) =
$5.25

with a total shipping of $15.00 for the order ...

This would take a custom shipping module ... but it could be custom written for this ...
