Content Alignment issues in Firefox

As a note I am using 1.3.8a. I noticed that when I upgraded my IE to ver. 8 - that my site was again misaligned in the header. However, once I switched to capatability mode it aligned properly. I thought that was for older websites?

That would indicate that you have an error in your CSS which older IE browsers were ignoring or compensating for, when the standards-correct behavior would put it as FF and IE8 show.
I'd have to look at it to see what the problem is, but I like the logo at the side. It's an assymmetric design that would look a bit uncomfortable dead center on the page.

OK, I'm at a loss here. The site shows well in IE7, but not IE8 and FF where the Center Content aligns to far to the left. I looked at the other postings, but nothing helped.

As you see the left menu is too far over to "compensate" for the center content being to far to the left. The left menu should be aligned with the border in the background the same way as the right menu.

Is there a reason or are you using stylesheet_pre_1010_01.css??
Any file there ending in .css is being parsed

No, that is just a copy of what was used before Jan 10. That was a slightly modifed version of the current .css we use on another site.

Your tip about checking the Config settings did the trick, for some reason the left boxes had a different setting than the right. Setting it to the same (186 pixels) did the trick. I guess I must have played with this combined with the pre jan 10 CSS and totally forgotten that I had made changes to the Config to make it work.

Can't thank you enough, it's always those small simple things you just don't see.

Just because you think it is the old version doesn't mean the computer thinks it's obsolete:)

As Kobra said, any style***.css file in that folder will be used. Since it comes after stylesheet.css alphabetically, it will be applied later and override any conflicting stylesheet.css settings.
You need to delete it or rename it like stylesheet_pre_2010_01.bak so it is not seen as a stylesheet.
