help question Customer Authorization - Can I Change while they're still logged in?

Is it possible to do this? ...
While a customer is logged in and his authorization is set to 'Approved', can I edit it to 'Pending Approval: May browse with prices but may not buy' and have that reflected as soon as the customer goes to another page on my site without having to relog? The reason is that I sell digital goods and if it's a customer I just approved, I like to watch the contents of his cart by refreshing the 'Who's Online' page in the admin panel. If I see the customer is loading up with all of the products, it is very likely to be fraudulent so I would like to terminate his/her ability to buy immediately without the user having to relog. Does this make sense? If so, how could this be implemented?
I am using the newest Zen Cart version.

    Thanks!

My initial thought would be no. The customer authorisation level is set when the customer logs in and stored in his "session".

Although Zen Cart recognizes that as an Admion you have more control, to your server you are just two different sessions and for security reasons it will not want one session user changing session data for another.

However, there may be an additional check against the database at the actual point of checkout, though I think that unlikely and don't remember seeing one.

If a customer is logged in and not yet approved, you can change it and that will work on the current session as unapproved customers are checked ...

    However ...

If a customer is logged in and already approved and you change it to non-approved, that is not going to change for the customer until the next session as the test is not done on approved customers, just on non-approved customers to be able to update them to be able to buy immediately ...

red flag Re: Customer Authorization - Can I Change while they're still logged in?

Thanks so much for the responses thus far! Would someone know what kind of code modification I can do to update the session for non-approved to buy while browsing?

I am not following you ...

If a customer is NOT approved, the setting is checked on each click ...

If a customer IS approved, the setting is no longer checked on each click ...
