It keeps changing my code!

I'm stuck working with a Concentric server that a client has and supposably the latest version the serveer can handle is:

Zen Cart 1.3.7.1
Database Patch Level: 1.3.7

When I upgrade to 1.3.8, will I be able to keep the custom template I made.

I'll change some code , one refresh it'll look how I changed it, I come back and it's back to the default code. What's going on?



I changed the Welcome message, I saw it how I changed it on one resfresh and then later it changed back.

I also changed below the welcome message:

"This file is located in /languages/english/html_includes/classic/

NOTE: Always backup the files in /languages/english/html_includes/your_template"

which was in the folder:

zen-cart/includes/languages/english/html_includes/classic

I simply deleted the files contents and reloaded it, it worked for one refresh and later it came back.



I just start poking into Zen-Cart for my first time ever today.
I am a noob and quite noob at PHP too. I just search for html code within the files and it's such a pain.

Does anyone else hate clicking through so many folders all the time?

I'm not sure what a Concentric server is, but it sounds like you're fighting something on the server, for sure. (When I Googled "Concentric server" the first result was a mention of permalinks not working in Wordpress.)

I see no reason why a server which can run Zen Cart 1.3.7 would not be able to run 1.3.8, but more knowledgeable people than I might know why.

Perhaps your problem is caused by permissions? Are the files you're trying to change at the right permission level for changing? Is your FTP program setting permissions correctly when you upload files. Is there security on the server which is reverting your changes? You're not using a Control Panel file manager to do your edits are you? Others have said this is a bad thing; I don't know why.

Installed on the right server, ZC is quick and easy to upload and install.

Years ago, when I couldn't even spell MySQL or php, I made sure to follow the installation instructions and found a reliable host first.

At 09H00 I didn't have a zenshop.
