where can I find my robots.txt file?
If I haven't got any, in what folder should it be stored?

Zen Cart does not come with a robots.txt file, you will need to create this yourself, here is a good place to start: http://www.robotstxt.org/ :)

I've read I should put it in the same folder as my index.html page,
but where do i find this?

You put the file in your root directory, if Zen Cart is installed in your root directory instead of a subfolder there will be an index.php file instead of an index.html file
