Help : Manually Adjust the Price

Hi, not sure where to put this, so I hope its ok in this forum.

Quite a simple question, the answer is not likley to be as easy i fear.

How would I go about adjusting the price of a given item in a customers basket myself?

Any pointers or tips on which variables / tables to look at would be a massive help.

really appreciate any info on getting this sorted.

I don't quite get your question.

Do you mean the customer places an item in the basket and you want to change the price before they check out? That wouldn't be right under any legislation I suppose.

Or is it just a matter of raising/lowering a price in your catalog?

Presuming the latter is the case then go to

Admin --> catalog --> Categories/Products and select the appropriate category, then select the product in question. make your changes as desired.

lol... i guess your right my question wasnt too specific.

basically i want to script my own product attributes, as i need conditionals.... so.. im going to need to be able to update the price myself.

this is really the only part thats got me stumped... if i can get this sorted and if it works well, i'm thinking of releasing it for people to use untill conditionals are more readilly availiable.

Just need som insight into the way price is stored / calculated / passed through to checkout.

Going through all the objects now... but it could take me an ages to find it myself... so any pointers appreciated

Update :

The price isn stored anywhere in the DB that i can see, so i reckon it must be calculated on the fly for each item (annoying).

I really need to find the script that calculates the price for each product so i can "ammend" it
