Default Help needed with Zones shipping please.

I have set up zone rate shipping and it all seems to be working correctly, one small snag has just become apparent though after a GB customer was charged the overseas handling charge.

I have used just two zones that are basically GB in zone 1 and rest of the world (00) in zone 2, this zone has a handling charge added to the same rates as zone 1 to cover airmail costs etc and it all worked fine during testing - I changed the address on an overseas test account and the shipping value was calculated correctly.

The problem is that by default it's applying the handling charge to all shipping - in the checkout it's showing as; Zone Rates (Shipping to ) with no country code.
In the section further down there is a radio button that is pre selected that says 'zone rates' and 'shipping to GB' if the customer is from GB - clicking this again removes the handling charge and charges the correct shipping - so the snag is customers are by passing this (clicking it again) as the radio button is pre selected by default.

Is there a way around this?

Check your ISO country code(s) for the UK...

    ADMIN>>>LOCATIONS / TAXES>>>COUNTRIES

then ensure the 2-digit code is applied in the shipping module.

The two digit code for the U.K is GB - this is what I am using in zone 1. In zone 2 I am using 00 to include all countries with the appropriate handling charge to cover the cost of airmail etc - thinking about it this will also include GB, could it be clashing with zone1 as GB is appearing in both zones?

Is there a list somewhere of the codes that I could paste into zone2 (after removing GB)

I recall a post some months ago by AJEH (Linda McGrath) where she explained resolving this type of issue.

Perhaps PM her - or ...

Thanks for the link but that is exactly how I have it now. GB for zone1 and 00 (for everything else) as zone2.

    That's what I thought...

You may have no option but to strip in all 235 (or so) ISO codes.
    Code:
    AX,AF,AL,DZ,AS,AD,AO,AI,AQ,AG,AR,AM,AW,AU,AT,AZ,BS,BH,BD,BB,BY,BE,BZ,BJ,BM,BT,BO,BA,BW,BV,BR,IO,BN,BG,BF,BI,KH,CM,CA,CV,KY,CF,TD,CL,CN,CX,CC,CO,KM,CG,CK,CR,,,HR,CU,CY,CZ,DK,DJ,DM,DO,TP,EC,EG,SV,GQ,ER,EE,ET,FK,FO,FJ,FI,FR,FX,GF,PF,TF,GA,GM,GE,DE,GH,GI,GR,GL,GD,GP,GU,GT,GN,GW,GY,HT,HM,HN,HK,HU,IS,IN,ID,IR,IQ,IE,IL,IT,JM,JP,JO,KZ,KE,KI,,,KR,KW,KG,,,LV,LB,LS,LR,LY,LI,LT,LU,MO,MK,MG,MW,MY,MV,ML,MT,MH,MQ,MR,MU,YT,MX,FM,MD,MC,MN,MS,MA,MZ,MM,NA,NR,NP,NL,AN,NC,NZ,NI,NE,NG,NU,NF,MP,NO,OM,PK,PW,PA,PG,PY,PE,PH,PN,PL,PT,PR,QA,RE,RO,RU,RW,KN,LC,VC,WS,SM,ST,SA,SN,SC,SL,SG,SK,SI,SB,SO,ZA,GS,ES,LK,SH,PM,SD,SR,SJ,SZ,SE,CH,SY,TW,TJ,TZ,TH,TG,TK,TO,TT,TN,TR,TM,TC,TV,UG,UA,AE,GB,US,UM,UY,UZ,VU,VA,VE,VN,VG,VI,WF,EH,YE,YU,ZR,ZM,ZW
(PS: the above line still contains GB)

Please CHECK this line for extra commas, spaces, etc. It's the full list of 2-digit ISO's off ZC 1.3.8a dbase

    OOps...

Couple of "zones" weren't included in the above list:

This list does include them (along with GB, as before):
    Code:
    AX,AF,AL,DZ,AS,AD,AO,AI,AQ,AG,AR,AM,AW,AU,AT,AZ,BS,BH,BD,BB,BY,BE,BZ,BJ,BM,BT,BO,BA,BW,BV,BR,IO,BN,BG,BF,BI,KH,CM,CA,CV,KY,CF,TD,CL,CN,CX,CC,CO,KM,CG,CK,CR,CI,HR,CU,CY,CZ,DK,DJ,DM,DO,TP,EC,EG,SV,GQ,ER,EE,ET,FK,FO,FJ,FI,FR,FX,GF,PF,TF,GA,GM,GE,DE,GH,GI,GR,GL,GD,GP,GU,GT,GN,GW,GY,HT,HM,HN,HK,HU,IS,IN,ID,IR,IQ,IE,IL,IT,JM,JP,JO,KZ,KE,KI,KP,KR,KW,KG,LA,LV,LB,LS,LR,LY,LI,LT,LU,MO,MK,MG,MW,MY,MV,ML,MT,MH,MQ,MR,MU,YT,MX,FM,MD,MC,MN,MS,MA,MZ,MM,NA,NR,NP,NL,AN,NC,NZ,NI,NE,NG,NU,NF,MP,NO,OM,PK,PW,PA,PG,PY,PE,PH,PN,PL,PT,PR,QA,RE,RO,RU,RW,KN,LC,VC,WS,SM,ST,SA,SN,SC,SL,SG,SK,SI,SB,SO,ZA,GS,ES,LK,SH,PM,SD,SR,SJ,SZ,SE,CH,SY,TW,TJ,TZ,TH,TG,TK,TO,TT,TN,TR,TM,TC,TV,UG,UA,AE,GB,US,UM,UY,UZ,VU,VA,VE,VN,VG,VI,WF,EH,YE,YU,ZR,ZM,ZW

Thanks for your help thus far

The first list just charged any order postage at £20 - not sure where that came from as that figure is not anywhere to be seen in the module. Clicking in the radio button put the shipping charge correct as it did before.

The second list you kindly supplied got rid of that error (?) but the same problem remains - the radio button is still pre selected with no indication that the customer has to actually click it to get the correct postage applied. If I saw a button with the green 'dot' already in it I doubt I would click it to select that option as it appears to be already done for you.

At the moment the only way around this that I can see is to use a second shipping method to force the customer to choose.

What are your settings in the Zone Rate zones shipping module?

NOTE: 00 (two zeros not two Os) means, everyone not otherwise defined ...
