you can also just switch off sessions in your admin to get rid of the zenid. but your site will not work on people computers who have cookies disabled.

Sounds bad doesnt it?.. not really......

I'm working on a zen cart that is using an index.html as a cover page until the cart is ready.

I installed uri mapper last night and now the index.html won't load. The site opens to index.php.

I disabled the last line of the htaccess rule

RewriteRule .* index.php?%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

Doing this allows the index.html page to load but now the index.php won't load at all. The site remains on the index.html. Well I can't get any work done that way so I have to re-enable that.

Next I tried adding this .(html) rule

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.[a-zA-Z]{2,5}$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \.(html)$ [NC]

That didn't help. I need the index.html page to load first and still allow the index.php to load when called for directly by adding index.php to the main url

Is there something I can add to the htaccess file so this can happen?

I don't know how to write htaccess rules. I'm a copy/paste kind of gal when it comes to htacess.

Yes there is.. You're making a lot of work for yourself trying to make this setup work..

Why not simply create a subdomain and put your store there until you are ready to go live. It's easy enough to transfer from your development store from the subdomain to your production (live) store location. This way you can develop the store in a place that others may not know the URL and leave your placeholder index.html in place.. PLUS you'll have a parallel place to do testing away from your live store should you need to make changes/updates to your live store.

I strongly suggest you get yourself up to speed on .htaccess files and how they work so that when you copy and paste you are understanding what you are copying and what you are pasting.. I don't profess to know ALL the ins and outs of Unix directives, but I do know Google is a wonderful resource for getting yourself up to speed. It's exactly how I learned how to use .htaccess to password protect a folder.

BTW.. NONE of this has anything to do directly with the Ceon URI Mapping (SEO) module.. ie: the issue you are having is not directly cause by this module.. So I do suggest that any further discussions on this topic should be in a separate thread..

You basically want to temporarily have '/' as '/index.html' but '/' is currently assigned to '/index.php'.

You should be able to have /index.html take control of / by adding the following to the rewrite rule:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/$

This stops / being rewritten and passed on to /index.php

This is my very first post, so if I am not adhering to all the rules, please be patient.

Zen Cart 1.3.9h is installed in the directory called shop.

I have two questions:

1.) Is CEON URI Mapping version 3.8.0 the latest available version?

2.) If so, will it work with my version of Zen Cart (1.3.9h).

[ I see in the /ceon_uri_mapping__3.8.0_for_zc folder that it only seems to cater for up to 1.3.9f.

So version 3.8.0 of Ceon URI Mapping (currently the latest) does work with version 1.3.9h of Zen Cart.

Duh...

Searched the post before this... sorry if Im duplicating..

Zen Cart 1.3.9h, using the core files from 1.3.9d, two languages, no core modifications. CEON works ok for Categories, Products, etc.. except ezpages... Just generates the normal URI, nothing like /contact_us...

I can edit the ezpage and choose to autogenerate or to type in, they are recorded in db and if I browse to /new-products it works, pero the ezpages menu is not outputting the URI.

Ive gone though the instructions 5 times..

Is there and other html_output.php to be merged other than
1.3.9d\includes\functions\html_output.php??

Why could this be?
