Hi
I am using Zen 1.3.7 and having some issues deciding how to create a product page that has attributes that involve quanitites > 1... ie can a customer order qty. 45 of an attribute?
From the posts of the last few years it looks like it might not be possible yet.
Here is an example (if nothing else maybe someone has an idea that I have not considered yet).
I build custom rigging for sailboats. More specifically the wires that hold the mast in place. So, you have the following variables.
1. Wire diameter
2. Wire Length
3. Upper Terminal
4. Lower Terminal
5. Rigging Services
The only variable that is turning out to be a problem is #2, wire length.
My first thought was to make #1, wire diameter, a product rather than an attribute. I could therefore knock out two variables with one product. I would then leave the remaining 3 variables as attributes under each product (wire diameter).
The problem with this setup is that if the client needs me to build a 45 ft finished wire, they would need to put 45 into the product quantity box then select appropriate attributes from below.
The shopping cart of course is going to think I want 45 ft of wire plus attributes 45 times, not 45 ft of wire plus attribute costs for that wire.
So, is there any way to have a quantity box in attributes for the wire length desired or a way to eliminate the multiplier effect if I use wire diameter and wire length as a product?
Are there any ad ons available that would allow me to avoid attributes and assign accessories to a product (like easy ask)? This could be another way to go if so.
Thanks for the Help
