I want to remove the newsletter subscribe link in my Information side box as well as shipping and returns and privacy notice.
In addition id like to change what my Information and Category Sideboxes for headings. Can anyone help me please?

I can't seem to find my answer anywhere.
Is there a switch to turn "Privacy Notice" off from the information toolbar or do I have to do it manually in the code?

Found it: go to admin->configuration->Define Page Status
