    Default Extra Images in product

I am using 1.3.8 fresh install with Gloss Black Template
    EZPopulate is also installed.

I have added product from within the catalog and then did EZpopulate so I would have an example of what I was dealing with. I have items that at the bottom of the product page show 1-several images of other products within my cart. These are only there when the part number ends in a number. If the Part number ends with a letter then no extra images are visible. I know this sounds strange buy I have a part

    VP4690-DC10-x10
    and
    VP4690-DC10-x10-BK

One is silver the other is black. That's the only difference. I created the silver (-10) first and then made a copy of the item both from with the products section and then again (after deleting the product) from EZpopulate. I get the same result.

Here are links. Look at the bottom of the page on both and see the difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The display of additional images has nothing to do with:

    • The template you are using.
    • The product code (model number)
    • Easy Populate and the database

Whether or not extra images display depends on:

    • The BASE NAME of your main image for a product
    • The COMPLIANCE of additional images names to the additional images naming principle.

    So, for:

    http://www.cdeverything.com/index.ph...roducts_id=189

    Your MAIN IMAGE is called:

VP4690-DC10-x1-BK.jpg (so its BASE NAME is: VP4690-DC10-x1-BK)

... any ADDITIONAL images ought to contain the base name, PLUS an underscore, preferably followed by digits:

    VP4690-DC10-x1-BK_01.jpg
    VP4690-DC10-x1-BK_02.jpg
    VP4690-DC10-x1-BK_03.jpg

The images will display in the numerical sequence designated by
    01
    02
    03

Maybe I didn't convey what I was saying very well. I am not trying to use extra images they are just showing up in the item when viewed. They are not even the correct images. They just randomly appear. I have a few right now that I cannot find an explanation for.

They are of NEATO labels. The main image is supposed to be. After and below the Add to cart button I have 4 images that are of NEATO labels but they are of 4 different labels that are different products on the cart. Theay all have a hyperlink for larger image as well.

Some of the products have this, some do not and I am adding these products all the same way.

If you look at the filenames of all your images, you will probably see that the ones that are appearing as ADDITIONAL IMAGES on certain Product Info pages, have filenames very close to the filename of the MAIN IMAGE for that product.

ZC's "automatic" additional image recognition system is probably kicking in, and believes these images to have a close association.

You can either re-name your images to "separate" this relationship, or you can adjust the following setting in your admin panel:

admin>>>configuration>>>images>>>Product Info - Number of Additional Images per Row.

NB: this will have a site-wide consequence - setting to 0 will not allow any additional images to show.

A third option (if you DO want some products to show additional images) is to create PAGE-SPECIFIC stylesheets, where you use the display:none declaration against the style ID to hide additional images. (see the readme in the CSS folder).

I gave that a shot. Now it still shows the same images...except there are 4 rows with 1 image each rater that 2 rows with 3 images on 1 row and 1 image on another row. I have it set at "0".

    Starting to wear me out.

You can switch them off completely then..

    Admin>>>Catalog>>>Product Types>>>Product General>>>Edit Layout (BUTTON ON R.H. SIDE)>>>Show Product Additional Images:

    Set to " 0 "

    Hi fairestcape,

I tried as you say to rename the images so that I can more extra images for this product. How can I make them located inside the content of the description instead of outside the content box?? I put the 2 images into image/large.

Right now, the one with teh large image link are done according to your advice. The other two similar pictures I did it by inserting them manually using the text editor when I was putting in the product description. The page I am rerferring to is:

    http://ftabonus.com/dish-network-dis...tch-p-142.html

    Help will be much appreciated.

You can edit /includes/templates/your_template/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php and move the "additional images" code block up to just below the "description" code block. If you don't want the box around those images. you can edit your stylesheet and remove the border on #productAdditionalImages{}.
