Need help with code for direct product links for iDevAffiliate

I have an affiliate who wants to link directly to some of my products. I use iDevAffiliate for tracking sales and each affiliate gets their own affiliate ID.

An example of the standard linking code is:

http://www.queerrepublictees.com/idevaffiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=193

... where 193 is the affiliate ID.

So I told him to use this format:

http://www.queerrepublictees.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=61/idevaffiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=193

... but he says it's not working for him.

Am I missing something here???

Adding the extra information to the end of the incoming link will not work. Basically you are bypassing idevAffiliate and going straight into Zen Cart. Zen Cart then looks at stuff on the end of the URL that it knows is not amongst the range of inputs that it is expecting, strips it off and throws it away - it does this for your safety since adding code to the end of URLs is one of the techniques that hackers use.

So how can you do this? Let's step back and see how idevAffiliates works. Your incoming links go first to idev with the information about the affiliate attached. idev reads that information and records it in its database and in a cookie for later use. Then it forwards the visitor to the default home page on the site (the one you set in Setup & Tools > Site Configuration.

To send it somewhere else, you need to create custom links (bottom of the Marketing menu, left hand side). These override the link to the Default Incoming Traffic Page, but you will need to define a keyword for each and have your affiliate include them in the product specific URLs that he uses to link to your site.
