    Default New account default authorization

    Hi all,

    I am very new to zen and I have a dilema that I have been unable to solve and figure there is probably a very simple solution.

    Heres what I would like to achieve.

    1: I would like anybody to be able to browse my shop but not see any prices.

    2: I would like any body to be able to register or create an account "With a status" of "Pending" ie still be able to browse but not see any prices until they have been manually authorised.

    At present as soon as they create an account prices are visible. This is not ideal because I have several pricing groups. I don't want them to see any prices until I have authorised them and allocated them to the correct pricing group.

    Basically what I need is similar to option 2 in the customer shop status. "May browse but no prices unless logged in" except I need it to be "May browse but no prices unless AUTHORISED"

    I am fairly sure that I am missing something pretty basic but as I said I am fairly new.

    I currently have both the customer shop status and customer authorization status set to 2 but this doesn't seem to work because a customer is automatically authorised as soon as they create an account and can therefore see prices.

    The only option (I can see) is to change the customer authorisation status to 1 "Must be authorised to browse" but once again this isn't ideal because I would like them to be able to have a look around the shop to see what we've got.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Leigh.

    PS Sorry for the essay.

    Go to the Configuration ... Customer Details ...

    Set both to 2 for:
    Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices
    Customer must be approved to shop
    0= Not required
    1= Must login to browse
    2= May browse but no prices unless logged in
    3= Showroom Only
    Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending
    Customer must be Authorized to shop
    0= Not required
    1= Must be Authorized to Browse
    2= May browse but no prices unless Authorized
    3= Customer May Browse and May see Prices but Must be Authorized to Buy

    I already have them both set to 2 as I said. The problem is that as soon as somebody creates an account thay are automatically authorised and can see the prices. I want them to be able to create an account and browse (with no prices) until I authorize them.

    Sounds like you have changes to your code that is setting customers as automatically authorized and this is not a feature of Zen Cart ...

    Check the create_account.php module and see if you have changed it from the original code ...
