css problem Damn IE 7. Layout Problems!

    Hello,

I've read a few threads on this topic plus some other websites on IE hacks, but I'm still just confused.

It's the old layout problem in IE7. My sideboxes look fine in Firefox, and also in Internet Explorer 8. But as you probably know, alas, most people use IE7.

So my sideboxes are out of line. Had to ditch a wordpress customisation because of the same problem.

If anyone has any ideas how to correct this, I will be eternally grateful! I'm assuming this is a CSS problem but I may be wrong...

    Here's the link: https://theowlprojects.ssl-01.com/call_girl_clothing/

    Thanks in advance.

Your site won't load here. It may have somthing to do with the whole site being under SSL. Generally, you only want to secure the pages which need to be secured.

    Oh...

Just had a read about having the whole shop SSL, and doesn't seem to be an issue. Though I don't know much about that myself. I thought it'd be fine. I've never had any problem loading the site with different OS's, ISPs etc.

    Problems, problems.

Are you just getting a blank page?

    Thanks for your help.

The problem with having the whole site secure is that you will not show up on the search engines for any of your keywords. Google will crawl the site but will not assign any page rank to secure pages.

Thanks for your reply. I guess that's next on my to do list then.

    However I've read here:

    http://www.webproworld.com/google-di...ges-https.html

    and here:

    http://www.clicks.ws/forum/making-yo...ite-t6910.html

that https is indexed. It's just takes longer. I'm no expert on the issue though.

In the mean time any help with the CSS issue would be appreciated.

I've taken to experimenting with the stylesheet with fingers crossed...

Yes Google will index the pages but not assign them page rank, which means you won't show up when people search for you keywords.
