Default Zen Cart Microsoft Dynamics NAV integration

    Hello all,

I am looking for a shopping cart solution for my customer. They are using MS NAV for direct sales at the moment.

Does anyone here have any experience of integrating Zen Cart with NAV? If not, any pointers about feasibility would be good.

The data we would want to keep synchronised would be stock items, stock levels and pricing, along with customer records.

The customers part is interesting, as some customers will be part of a discount group (or not) and their status as a member of this group would need to be reflected to Zen Cart.

Also, zen cart customers are identified by email address. Is it possible to use a different identifier for login, such as the customer id / member id defined in NAV?

    Thanks,

    Paul

integrating zencart with navision , ? i guess thats possible , but that means redoing zencart and lots of money to do that .

when MS took over navision , i had a chance of using that program for short time, I remember but not too sure , that Nav had module to create online store . I guess the best bet would be to query MS to see if they have add on for Navision .

other then that , you have to dump your data from nave to excel , and modify and upload to zencart using easy populate , which is limited to products only .. ( as far as i know )

Yeah, getting the data out of NAV isn't difficult, there are plenty of mechanisms to do this. The real question is how to get it into Zen Cart.

I had expected with the wide use of Zen Cart there would be more options with integration generally. From a stock level perspective, you could conceivably reserve stock in NAV and just give it to the web site to sell. Then managing stock levels becomes something you would do periodically.

But synchronising customers would be important. And of course, which I didn't list earlier, getting the orders out of ZenCart and into NAV (this could be done once a day).

well, you can export data that Zencart will use from navision , into excel to modify to suit Easy populate .. then update zen cart , you can do the same , by downloading date from zencart using easy populate and modify in excel and import to navision .. this would be time consuming , but that is easy way ..

however, easy populate is limited to some data , but you can modify it to suite your need if you know how to write SQL statements.

there is also commercial section in this forum that can be more help in configuring zen cart with other system .

also , you can read about version 2, there are some support for different databases .. i guess that can help to some degree with your problem.
