Custom Template... Please Help

hello everyone!

i designed a template i want to use for my zen cart website. i have it as a psd.

can somebody please tell me what the next step would be?

what do i need to slice, script or whatever else i may need to do in order to use this template for my site.

Seriously, if you have to ask this might be over the top for you....

But the path might be to look at some of the free available templates to see how elements are applied and this should indicate what pieces have to be sliced and made into their own image to be applied to the proper elements of a template.

they only alter the stylesheets in the free templates...

so is there any tutorial or something that tells me which files i need to create? and where i need to add the img extension?

Start by looking into the stylesheet - Firefox with the Web Developer Tool add-on will be very helpful too!

Hi Pedro,

You've created a picture of the site design you'd like to have. That's step 1.

Step 2: have a look at a lot of the free templates available - when you find one that is a little bit close to what you want, set that up in your ZC install, turn it on and start turning off the parts you don't need to use

Step 3: cut the header image out of your psd file and replace the header img in your template with that; adjust the size of the header div in the stylesheet

Step 4: apply other styles in the stylesheet to duplicate as closely as you can all the other areas of your design -- font colours and sizes, background colours, all that sort of thing

Step 5: keep asking for help with specific problems here on the forum - we've all been through this, and we can help.
