    Default Sort Orders question

I'm trying to not use sort orders completely, just on a few products. Now to get these products to show up first on the list I put a (-) in front of them, like -1, -2, -3. This does in fact bring them to the top of the first page (The rest of the items in said catagory are set to 0 sort order, and they appear to list in the order they were created in the admin.

However, when you click to enlarge a item (that has a neg sort order in front of it) The pre/next buttons show it as "item 6/25" for example. It seems to be jumping up in the count to whatever number it was created in ( Like that was the 6th item I entered in the admin section.

Is there a way to get the pre/next buttons to show the actual list that everyone see's on the webpage, or do I really have to go in and set a sort order value for each item in that catragory?

    Thanks,

Are they linked products? And are you viewing them in the category list to which they've been linked? Then perhaps the product detail with the 6/25 at the top is actually the category they were created in, and not the category they are linked to. Or vice versa? (Can you tell I'm guessing?)

I thought about that, but no they aren't linked.

Another interesting thing, lets say you have 5 products in a certain catagory. Two of the five products have neg sort orders on them (-1,-2). When you click the catagory to open the view of all five products, they show up like they should. -1 first, -2 second, 0 third ,ect....

When you click the first product it shows it as product 3/5. As you click the "next button" it goes up in number order 4/5, 5/5, ect...

But when you click all the way back around to 1/5. It doesn't show the item with -1 first, but it shows the first item that was entered when the catagory was created. Almost like the sort order is being overided....

A link to your site will at least help us see the issue. Without that, we're stuck.
