Search also in this forum "More favicon issues".
I've had some problems on my pc with I.E.7 that I solved erasing tehe "web site visited".
Thank you. I got it to work. All I had to do was to create the image and place it in the root folder. I needed to clear my cache and refresh the page for it to show.

I am having the exact same problem. I have created a favicon.ico and can't figure out where to put it. I know it says in the root directory but I have tried that and it is not working. I can not find any . html files.
Any suggestions?
Right now I have it directly after my www. website.net. It is a favicon.ico directly under this root and it is the only thing there. If I double click on the site name then I get 2 folders - logs and web, then under web I get cgi-ben and content folders. If I double click on content then I get a lot of subfolders and other files.
Please help - I have been working on this all day!
I placed it in the public-html folder. This is the folder where all of your web content goes.
It is the directory that you index page for the home page goes.
IE does not display the favicon.ico. Firefox does.
Make sure the file is only 16 x 16 px size.
I created a favicon.ico but it isn't showing up. I put it into my /web/ directory. Not sure why it isn't there. I have done everything that was asked in the tutorial and this post. I don't have a folder labeled "public-htm"l folder. Should I?
