line feed in product description

How do I force a linefeed in the Product Description text? I am
a Newbie here, and have tried to use \n and /n for new line but that
obviously did not work (otherwise I wouldn't be asking LOL).
I don't know if the Product Description is saved as a PHP file or in what format it is saved. Can someone help with this? Thanks.

Try the html line break

afo is correct, but make sure that you are editing the html source code.

Most of the WYSIWYG editors for ZenCart will either insert the break code with the enter key, if not try holding the shift key and hit enter.

to do that I go to TOOLS->DEFINE PAGES EDITOR
and there on the top choose from the TEXT EDITOR list the "HTMLArea" this allows me to have formatted text.

You don't need to be using an HTML editor to insert HTML into product descriptions. I use the standard product input and use HTML as necessary.

When you use the HTML editor, be sure to click the "<>" icon to see and edit the code, and not the result shown by the browser.
