    Default Send coupon code email to almost all customers

    I recently sent out a valentine's email with a coupon code for my client's site. We received an email from a customer asking us to unsubscribe her from the email list. In the future I would like to be able to still send out coupon codes to all customers, except for those that explicitly ask to be unsubscribed from the mailing list. In my mind, it seems ok to send a discount to all customers as opposed to just newsletter subscribers.

    Two questions.

    1. Is this possible to do in Zen-Cart (and how, if yes)?
    2. Is it unethical to send coupon code emails to all customers regardless of newsletter subscription status?

    Admin CP > Tools > Send Email > Select All Newsletter Subscribers.

    You could be considered a spammer by emailing people that do not want to be emailed (ICANN 2004). Their loss.

    Then again, since they do not unsubscribe then you have every right to continue emails.

    Sorry, that's not exactly what I mean. I want to send this coupon code to all customers (not only newsletter subscribers), except for those that have specifically email me back and say "please unsubscribe me from all mailing lists." In otherwords, I really want to unsubscribe mechanisms...one for the newsletter, one for all email correspondence.

    If I wasn't subscribed to a company's 'newsletter', I wouldn't expect or want any communication from them unless it was about something critical.

    I guess that would be the safest anyway. If that is the preferred way to handle these mailings, then why does Zen-Cart list "All Customers" as the first option when sending out the Coupon email (it also includes "customers who havn't made purchases",etc)?
