I recently sent out a valentine's email with a coupon code for my client's site. We received an email from a customer asking us to unsubscribe her from the email list. In the future I would like to be able to still send out coupon codes to all customers, except for those that explicitly ask to be unsubscribed from the mailing list. In my mind, it seems ok to send a discount to all customers as opposed to just newsletter subscribers.
Two questions.
1. Is this possible to do in Zen-Cart (and how, if yes)?
2. Is it unethical to send coupon code emails to all customers regardless of newsletter subscription status?
