If you give us more info, someone here can help.

Which banner are you trying to show?

I see you don't have a header logo on your site. Is that the banner you mean?

Have you tried the banner manager, under the Tools menu, in the admin part of your site?

Have you looked at the Tutorials/FAQ section of this site -- link at top of page?

Tell us exactly what you are trying to do, and what you've tried so far.

As I said, the Tutorials/FAQ section of this site will tell you how to do things like this. I looked it up for you...

Dreamweaver can help you demo the look of your site, but isn't much good when it comes to implementing it in Zen Cart.

There are several recommended image editors, depending on whether you want to pay or not, and of course, whether you're using Windows or Mac or whatever. Google "free image editor Win XP" for example.

Do you have a local copy of the Zen Cart files? It doesn't have to run, just have all the files unzipped somewhere on your local hard drive. Keep this copy up-to-date with changes you make on your site, and you've got a backup. In these local files, set up your override folders. (Explained in the Tutorial/FAQs, as always.) Then in your custom template folder, in the css folder, open stylesheet.css in a text editor. (Not a word processor -- there are free ones available.) Make any stylesheet changes there and then FTP the changed file up to your server. (Free FTP clients are available -- are you beginning to see a pattern here? )

As for inside versus outide: did you install the sample data with your Zen Cart install? If so, it's there so you can see all the possibilties and experiment a little. Take some time to do that, making changes in your admin and seeing what happens. Basic settings, like what goes into your left column and right column (if you have the right column turned on) are made in admin/Tools/Layout Boxes Controller. Look at all the things you can do in admin, especially under the Configuration menu.

After that comes the stylesheet. Practice making changes there for things like text and background colors and images.

Only when you've done everything you can in admin and the stylesheet, and still have some needs would you then start to look at customizing the code. But by then you'll almost be an expert.

Keep the Tuorials/FAQs open in another browser window or tab, and start experimenting.
