Default Is Zencart right for me?

    Hi,

I only have one product. I want a simple 'one click' check out, no review page etc. Also the customer doesn't have to register, they can buy as a 'guest'.

I've tried nearly 10 carts now and they are all for people with a few more products to sell than me.

    Thanks,

    DB

Perhaps all you need is a nice html page with your product info and a paypal buyit button.

yes, I've looked into those options.

The problem is that I have 6 postage rates, 3 tax zones and have to build into the program a payment gateway for credit cards (we aren't using Paypal).

I'm not much of a coder. I've found all the bits but have no idea how to put them together. Also, my first delivery is next week.... no pressure!

Thanks anyway for the reply. Do you know if Zen cart can be modified enough for my requirements?

Zen Cart can be modified in a number of ways. Much of it can be turned on or off in the admin. I doubt you can get any cart up and running in such a short amount of time.

I believe there is a mod available to allow checkout without an account.

A skilled zenner could get your site operational quite quickly - (matter of hours if you indeed only have one product and relatively simple shipping), but as a novice, you'd definitely take a lot longer than a few days.

BTW: What payment gateway are you using? There could be a Module available for it. (If not... then even a skilled zenner may need a couple of weeks.)

I recently set up a zen cart for a customer who only has 1 product. She loves the extra functionality and ability to update content at a whim, as well as the other features. Even though she only has one product in the store to buy, it is composed of 3 skin care items she makes - so we built some custom pages to elaborate the individual items, and much more. After a little work with the template, the store front is exactly what she wants and works like a charm.

I think you might enjoy the extra functionality that the html page with a paypal button doesn't offer, and Zen Cart comes packed with love to help you in many ways.
