Number-Of-Boxes calculation problem

Sorry to beat this horse. We're running the latest Zen Cart install (1.3.8a) and the USPS module.

I've seen a number of Tare/Shipping/Calculations posts in the forum. None have answered my odd question. I hope someone out there is smarter than me!

Our situation:

We sell items that weight 0.2375 pounds each.

We package them in boxes that weigh 0.25 pounds.

Our 0.25 pound box holds 3 items.

3 items weighs 0.7125 (0.2375*3). Put them in a 0.25 pound box and you get a 0.9625 pound shipping weight.

In Configuration/ShippingPackaging, I set the "Maximum Package Weight" to 0.7125.

I have "Package Tare Small to Medium" set to 0:0.25

If I add 1, 2, or 3 items to the cart, it calculates the correct weight (weight of items + 0.25 for the box) but not the correct number of boxes.

If I add 4 or more items to the cart, it fails to calculate the additional box. If I add 7 or more items to the cart, it fails to calculate the two additional boxes.

Other than that, Zen Cart is the awesome stuff. After trying three other carts, this is the one.

Any help would be appreciated.

What happens if you set your Maximum Weight to: 0.9625

Unfortunately, the same thing.

It's like it's failing to add the extra box every N pounds.
