Adding artitist to product - music type ?

Hi. I'm completly new to zen cart and I am having hard time figuring out how to add products to the catalog.

General products are pretty much straight forward, but for musics, I do not see any way to add new artists.

Am I missing something?

Do I actually have to add artists directly to the DB ? (it better not be... )


Also, I'm looking for product - books type. I could not find one in the add-on download area, and links on this forum are dead.
Does anyone have a working link?

Are you planning on downloading the music or are you selling CDs? Both are pretty straight forward and are detailed in the tutorials.

It took me a while to figure out the download stuff but once you get the hang of it, its pretty straight forward. We're just ramping up but it works. We're now working on integrating DRM with our downloads.

You can set up different physical product types in the catalog (books, etc.) as well as downloadable products. As far as I've been able to tell, the artist, record company, etc. simply allow you to enter that stuff once and not everytime you create a new product by the artist, record company, etc.
