Default [Not a Bug] Welcome Email view Header

Not sure if this is a bug, or somewhere I made a change (I don't think so though). In Admin>Tool>Email Welcome my sample email does not show the header. I checked the link to the jpeg (As I get it OK when received via email), it shows the link as "http://......./admin/email/header.jpg" . There is no email directory in admin ..... but when I created one and added the header it showed up.

Is this a wrong link in the code, or somewhere did I make a change?

There are 3 things at play here:

    a) There is not supposed to be any /email/ folder in the admin directory. The content is supposed to be served up via relative paths.
    b) If you edit your email content or newsletter content using the admin, any linked images or URLs will include the path to your admin if you do the editing via one of the browser-based HTML editors since they think the /admin/ part of their own path is something you want in the path of whatever content it produces for you.
    c) When using the admin-based Welcome-Email-Preview tool on a fresh clean uncustomized install I don't see any problems.

Perhaps you've got additional folder paths added somewhere? maybe in your configure.php files?

Regardless, the admin-side preview of the email is completely simulated. It's not "real" at all. The "real" test is to make the store send the real email. Then if there's problems *there*, work on troubleshooting and fixing *that* problem ... since anything you do to fix the admin preview isn't going to do a whole lot to fix the real email itself.

I'm thinking we'll remove the preview tool in the next version since so many think it's the real thing ...
